Ann Arbor/Maybeshewill Split 7"

Ann Arbor/Maybeshewill

Field Records

2006

The first of three new split 7" singles to be released on Nottingham's Field Records.

Ann Arbor are an powerful industrial/noise rock outfit who sit somewhere between the metallic, angular rhythms of Shellac, and the programmed, full on guitar blast of Godflesh. Their track "Spill" is a cutting slice of interweaving guitar lines and drum machine loops, bludgeoning bass and weird noises that showcases their peculiarly different sounds.

Spin this vinyl over and you have Maybeshewill with "The Paris Hilton Sex Tape". Maybeshewill are another instrumental act, a three piece who employ massive guitars, drums and electronics to create a intensely furious soundscape. Their track sits comfortably along side Ann Arbor, complimenting their cold, brutal industral noise, with their rather more organic noise.

As the first of these split releases, this is great. Check both bands out.
