Another jazz project involving Ches Smith (also of Theory of Ruin, Mr Bungle, Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant...etc), along with his Good For Cows partner Devin Hoff, and Carla Kihlstedt and Marika Hughes.

In some respects, this is like Good For Cows but with Cello and Violin added into the mix. The effect is impressive: occasionally haunting, melodic, threatening, moving, or just simply jaw-droppingly great and groovy.

The simplicity of the rhythm section is the basis for this sound. The drums lay a steady base around which Hoff moves his jarring bass. Through all this the strings sing and wander, taking you on a journey into strange lands.

If you like Good For Cows, the Ex, Deerhoof or anything like that, you'll like this.
