Ruin's Domino

Bullet Union

Jealous Records

2005

This is the first full length album from Bullet Union, and it builds on the intense, urgency that was so brilliantly displayed on their first 7" for Jealous Records.

Sounding like a manic Rites of Spring, there is a vibrant, aggressive fire in their veins. Disjointed, jarring riffs burst from your speakers, with shots that sound like a spastic Discharge. The twin guitars are beaten along by a complete, and full rhythem section, never letting up the pace.

More mellow moments like Saint Feliu, call to mind fellow UK punks The Murder of Rosa Luxemburg, or Sonic Youth, whereas the fierce Yak Yak Yak You're Fired! kick your teeth in and don't pause to ask questions.

My only gripe is that the re-recorded version of Stay Indie Don't Be a Hater, doesn't feel as solid as the single version, but apart from that, this will be staying on my playlist for a long time. Buy it, people.
